Circuits of Change aims to provide girls from underserved communities with improved access to experimental STEM modules and application-based tools for learning and contextualizing education rooted in STEM concepts. The project acknowledges the need for a sophisticated pedagogical intervention to guarantee equal STEM opportunities for these marginalized groups. Thus, it incorporates a multi-pronged approach that seeks to establish a foundational understanding of STEM, equip students withthe necessary practical skills to implement their knowledge, and provide them with opportunities to acquire a hands-on-learning experience.
The project utilizes original educational resources such as the ‘Empower Handbook’ and the ‘Induction Activity Book’ to outline foundational concepts in STEM, particularly physics and electricity, and help students contextualize them in daily lives with the help of examples and hands-on activities. Circuits of Change also seeks to implement these resources with the help of interactive workshops, as well as supplement on-ground efforts with material and resource donations to to help provide children with an enriching scientific education.
